Meet The Staff
Lisa is trained to level 5 in childcare and management and graduated in bilingual practice within the early years. She has extensive experience of working with children with additional needs andsupports staff with early identification and assessments of children and acts as an advocate to families when support is needed. Having achieved her PTLLS and Assessors award, she utilises her teaching, management and childcare skills across the organisation to develop the internal training mechanisms and up skill the workforce through empowering them to achieve their full potential. Lisa has worked with the local authority over the past 10 years on many contracts and pilot projects and is deemed as a specialist in her area of expertise. Her experience of working successfully with children has further developed her leadership skills and she remains enthralled by how children develop, learn and interact and for this reason her flexible and proactive approach to teaching and further developing services for children reflects her motivation and ambition to succeed.
Mererid is a chartered accountant with 18 years of experience working for KPMG, KTS Owens Thomas and Mudiad Meithrin – the national Welsh playgroup association and is currently the Director of Finance for the National Library of Wales. Based in Aberystwyth she is a local Town councillor as well as being on the audit committee of a National Library of Wales, Coleg Cymraeg and an ICAEW Strategy board member. Mererid maintains a network of colleagues and uses information gathered effectively to act on opportunities for the organisation and identifies the creative solutions to help us improve community resilience in an aim to support early education.
Financial Director – Level 5
Rhiannon has a degree in Biochemistry and also possesses a level 3 in Childcare and is currently working towards her level 5 in childcare and management. She has worked in childcare for a number of years and was the leader of Cylch Meithrin Pentre’r Eglwys. Rhiannon has supported Meithrin nurseries for many years as their treasurer and has completed the Fundamentals level of the ACCA qualification, whilst working part-time for a small accountancy firm and her skills and expertise gained over the years has been a critical ingredient in our success. Rhiannon drives forward with determination and motivation in every aspect of her role which has been an integral part of the organisation’s success.
Area Manager – Level 5
Kirsty is trained to a level 5 in childcare and as a fluent welsh speaker is passionate about her role as Area Manager. Having worked with the group for over 5 years, she is organised, conscientious and reliable and provides a consistent approach to supporting staff in developing themselves and their practice to achieve excellence. Kirsty is enthusiastic, dedicated and has a natural calming manner when working with children and families and delivers an innovative approach to problem solving and works hard in developing high standards to improve opportunities for children and ensure the best possible outcomes for all.
Services Manager – Level 5
Tania is trained to a level 5 in childcare and leadership and is currently undertaking her PGCE, she has a natural ability to connect with children and adults which has allowed her to work successfully with children and develop strategies to support those with additional needs. Tania is creative and perceptive and understands the importance of being adaptable in her approach to building self-esteem, trust and confidence to help children and families overcome their personal obstacles. Tania has excellent interpersonal skills which she has used to mould a structured support system that has been fundamental in developing the companies infrastructure.
Training Manager – Level 4
Angela is trained to a level 5 in childcare and also holds her PTLLS and Assessors award and is currently completing her PGCE. Angela has a good level of welsh and supports the setting and staff in her role as Area Manager. She is a focussed individual who is passionate about motivating others to develop quality standards across the organisation and works successfully and effectively within the management team. Angela has seen many changes in childcare regulations and works with Lisa Thomas to ensure that the team keep up-to-date with training and development to ensure we deliver quality childcare and maintain our awards of excellence.
Area Manager – Level 4
Catherine is trained to a level 4 in childcare has many years experience in both childminding and childcare. She is currently undertaking her PGCE to further support our companies services. Her skills and experience enables her to understand first hand the challenges faced within early years environments and is wholly dedicated to working with our contractual nurseries to improve standards that promote excellence.
Charley’s passionate about the importance of children receiving good quality education from a young age and this can be seen in her daily practice. As a qualified teacher, she constantly strives to increase her own knowledge and is currently undergoing postgraduate training to obtain a Masters in Education. Charley supports the companies infrastructure and her skills and attributes are an integral part of the sustainability of the organisation.
